The "Kiss" and the "2 stars" I didn't recognize first as your stencil when I made the photo, it's very diffrent from your other work. just later I"ve seen it at your flickR page and the story around it.

Zctualyl the bottom "kiss" one was done for me boyfriend visiting from New Yrok and the top "I'm thinking" one was supposed to be a traveling stencil and travel around the world, but somehow that venture fell throw....

It's so cool to see my street art in someone else's photos!

auf mich machen die bilder den eindruck von notizen, wahrnehmungen. du siehst etwas, du fotografierst etwas. was natürlich nicht notwendigerweise das gleiche sein muss. das man damit dann auch etwas abbbildet und in verdacht romantischer ästhetisierung der armut (des schmutzes, der schönheit, der bedeutungslosigkeit etc.) gerät. gelesen und gesehen habe ich deine fotos hier jedoch nie so. small docs eben.

ich weiss immer noch nicht, ob es in ordnung war, die bilder hier zu veroeffentlichen bzw. ueberhaupt zu machen. der park liegt gegenueber der schule meines sohnes. das ist, was wir mogens und am nachmittag sehen, also dann doch etwas persoenliches.

letzlich fuehle ich mich auch in der entscheidung bestaetigt, mir keine bessere kamera anzuschaffen, weil's dann gar nicht darum gehn kann, "gute" photos zu machen oder eine natuerliche Distanz wegzu'zoomen'.
eigentlich sollen alle bilder hier einfach so wie notizen sein, die man im vorbeigehn macht, wo man auch mal was
durchstreichen kann oder die handsschrift unleserlich ist.

danke fuer die anregung delillo's mao II zu lesen.

I really like the reflection on that one, I go past that store's window almost everyday and I never notice how interesting it looks. I was in the concert when that photo was taken a little over 10 years ago. It's cool how many of Tel Aviv feature you got into one photo - the vintage guitar store, the street sign, the "poetry on the road" poster, it's like the entire street in one shot.

I'm not so crazy about Ice Cream, eventhough I like the colors of it. The photos were taken monday, around midnight, after a screening of Avi Moughrabi's new (and not his best - eventhough many say so) film at the cinematheque...

I did so many of those that night, I can't even remember where this is. It was such an intense evening, I went out at about 1:30 and hanged out till the spry can was empty and I marked the entire way from my building to a friend's building. The city was full of cops and each time I went past one, I wanted to throw away the spry can and never do that again, only to take it out of my backpack 2 seconds later. Eventually I was sure I was noticed by a police unite then as they drove by - I don't know if it was for the adrenaline rush or to try and make them less suspicious about me, I went to the car window and asked them for an address. The crossroad i talked with them in is where that building got burned and fall apart a few hours later.

Is this one on Barzilai street? I know the vacuum display, but I had no idea that's where i was spraying.

That actually happened to me, about 15 years ago I made a silly painting for my sister who was 4 at the time, it had two unicorns and a rainbow. At some point it got thrown away and disappeared. A few months ago she was checking out an apartment with a friend and going inside the home of a total stranger, she saw the same drawing hanged on the wall, apparently someone took it and kept it.

She said that she want to go there again and ask them to return it, but I don't think she'll ever do that.

I wonder if this type of art can work in Tel Aviv, I guess that things tend to get lost and found and lost again there, I should give it a try.

recently I read a review about an artist in Mexico City who
produces small beauiful objects. He is hiding them in the city's garbage and then tries to find them again on the city's flea markets.

I kind of recognize the places, I live in Tel Aviv now but originally I'm from Jerusalem, it's very interesting to see places I go past a lot, like Ha'Arbaba street chair store or streets signs from south Tel Aviv area in you photos, it feels familiar and foreign at the same time.

Thanks. I just make the photopgraphy, not he graffities. most of the pictures on this site are scenes from Tel Aviv, but the pictures above are from Jerusalem.
